The six grants we made in 2025
We gave £18,210 to six UK charities this year. Two large grants went to emergency appeals; four smaller ones started as suggestions from Altor Wealth clients and staff.

In 2025 the Foundation made grants totalling £18,210 to six UK registered charities. The two largest went to emergency appeals: £10,000 to Save the Children for safeguarding children in Gaza during the conflict, and £5,000 to Tearfund for its earthquake appeal for Afghanistan.
The remaining grants were smaller and closer to home. Sarcoma UK received £1,000 to support patients and families through a diagnosis of sarcoma, a soft-tissue cancer. Victoria’s Promise received £1,000 to support local women diagnosed with cancer. Both were proposed by people connected to Altor Wealth.
Why the emergency appeals
Our five funding themes are environment, waste, energy, poverty and young people’s health. Both appeals sat squarely in the last two, and both charities had the scale to act immediately. When a well-run organisation is already on the ground, a grant made quickly is worth more than a grant made carefully six months later.
Falling short of the 50% target
We should be honest that £18,210 is well short of half of what we received. The Foundation ended the year holding £221,961 in cash. The trustees intend to correct this by making more grants in 2026, and we would welcome suggestions.
