Grants

Grants to UK charities, listed in full

We publish every grant we make: who received it, how much, and what it was for. Most smaller grants begin as a suggestion from someone connected to Altor Wealth.

What we fund

Five things we want to change

  • Clean up our environment

  • Reduce waste

  • Green the energy mix

  • Alleviate poverty

  • Improve young people's health

We favour projects achieving two or more of these at once. We also consider charities personally supported by Altor Wealth clients and staff, by request.

How a charity gets proposed

No portal, no funding round

  1. 01

    Someone suggests a charity

Usually a client or member of staff at Altor Wealth who knows the charity well, has volunteered for it or has been helped by it. Larger grants to emergency appeals are proposed by the trustees themselves.

  2. 02

    The trustees check it

We confirm the charity is registered in the UK, read its latest accounts, and ask whether a grant would have a large net impact relative to its size. For themed grants we look for projects that achieve two or more of our aims at once.

  3. 03

A grant is made and recorded

Grants are paid directly to the charity. Every one is listed here and in the annual report, with the amount and what it was for.
