The endowment is the half of the Foundation’s income that we do not give away. It is invested in the EQ Positive Impact All Equity fund, chosen because it is designed both to grow in value and to do measurable good.
At 31 December 2025 it was worth £513,950. A year earlier it was £260,418. The increase comes from new contributions during the year and from investment growth.
What £1m means
The target is £1,000,000 before the current partners of Altor Wealth retire. At that size the endowment alone should be able to support grants of £20,000 to £30,000 a year indefinitely, without any further income from the firm. That is the whole point: the giving should carry on long after the income that started it has stopped.
Give half away. Invest the other half. Keep going for ever.
